Of of New York's most prestigious funds is currently seeking a Director of Private Equity Accounting. This role is 85% management and review, 15% hands on accounting functions.

The ideal candidate should possess the below:

● Ensure timely and accurate financial and investor reporting for all managed private equity funds and entities and overseeing the dissemination of such reports within expected timelines including: monthly and quarterly financial statements, investor letters and statements for managed funds, monthly management company reporting
● Review of capital calls, distributions, management fee calculations, waterfall allocations, and IRR functions
● All external fund administration and accounting functions in support of the firm
● Management of due diligence questionnaires and information requests from current and prospective investors including oversight of timely response to LP RFPs
● Portfolio company and investment valuations and oversight of third-party valuation providers
● Knowledge of relevant systems such as Investran
● Oversight of third-party fund administrator(s)
● Knowledge of reporting to third party industry sources

Educational requirements:

● Bachelors in Accounting required
● Masters in Accounting a plus
● CPA is preferred

Experience requirements:

● 6+ years’ experience in managing a team of Fund Accountants, Senior Fund Accountants, Supervisors, SVPs/VPs
● 11+ years of fund accounting experience in either a Private Equity Fund, Private Equity Fund Administrator, or other financial institution
● Knowledge of US GAAP and other comprehensive basis of accounting
● Experience in reviewing and preparing general ledgers and financial statements
● Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience of other professionals
● Project management skills with attention to detail
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Working knowledge of Excel and Word essential, experienced user of the SunGard Investran PE accounting platform highly desirable
